Zinc, chromium, manganese, vanadium and molybdenum help individually but together they maximize the benefits for the body's major systems. Vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid work together to lower homocysteine levels and promote cardiac health.

Vitamin D, silica, calcium, magnesium and other nutrients promote skeletal health, helping to maintain strong bones and teeth. As well, combinations of vitamins and minerals that work together increase their individual benefits. For example, selenium works with vitamin E, increasing the value of vitamin E by an estimated 4 to 10 percent. Vitamin B6 and zinc work together as do many other nutrient combinations.
