Discussion: Nattokinase supports fibrinolysis, the breaking up of thrombi (abnormal blood clots within blood vessels), by reducing excessive levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor type I (PAI-1), an enzyme which suppresses the body’s fibrinolytic activity. Fibrinolysis is essential to maintaining healthy vascular structure and function.
